DZD scientists were represented in various sections of the lecture and poster presentation programs, and the DZD exhibition stand in the EASD Association Village was an international meeting point. Professor Andrew Boulton, the current EASD president, also visited the DZD stand. Here the information material of the DZD including the brochure about the different research groups, network projects and research areas was very well received and served as opener for many conversations among the EASD attendees.
With more than 18,000 diabetes experts, the congress in Barcelona was the best attended event ever of the EASD. Participants came from more than 100 countries. In 2014 the 50th Annual Meeting will take place in Vienna.
